Our first year students were challenged to sketch a ten piece trouser collection. Using their knowledge of different design elements and dart manipulation, they were able to create cohesive yet diverse trouser collections with a clear theme behind them.
Serenitee’s collection features short and full length pleated trousers with colour blocking details and a green, beige and white palette to tie it all together.
Brieanna’s collection also uses an analogous colour blocking scheme on full length trousers. The orange and yellow play off of each other very well.
Kiara inspired her collection in the sky at different points of the day. Her colour palettes are drawn from the colours of the sky at sunrise, sunset, dusk and daylight respectively. Kiara uses sheers in this collection for a beautiful airy effect
Valerie’s collection is for summer trousers and includes pants suitable for many outdoor activities. She uses a beautiful, fresh cool toned palette with hints of yellow and orange to further push the summer theme.
Jessica’s collection of trousers is meant for city gals all the way. She makes use of funky prints and patterns for a youthful look. She ties her collection together through the use of dark colours.
Betty’s collection is all about casual comfort. With roomy fits and fleece fabric creating a collection perfect for lounging in
Tianda’s collection is pretty and feminine. The use of sheer pearl encrusted fabric appears multiple times in the collection and the simple colour palette of black andwhite keeps it classy and elegant
